La Cappelletta

Red wine (Colli Tortonesi DOC Freisa)

Appearing in some documents as early as 1500, freisa is a typical Piedmontese vine, a close relative of Nebbiolo.

The name of this wine derives from the place where the vineyard of the same name stands surrounded by the historic vineyards that have belonged to the Boveri family for centuries.

Grape variety: Freisa 100%

Vineyard: Located in Costa Vescovato (AL), planted in 2005

Sixth plant: 0.83x2.60 - Guyot breeding

Soil: Medium-textured clay

Yield per hectare: 70 quintals/ha.

Harvest: Mid-September manually

Vineyard processing: Fertilized with organic-based products, green manure in alternate rows with mechanical weeding.

Since 2019 the company has followed the "DTP Passione & Ragione - Sustainable Viticulture" protocol

Processing in the cellar: Crushing and subsequent vinification in steel at a controlled temperature (26° C). Delastage mid-fermentation. Racking and end of fermentation in steel. Subsequent refinement for one year in tanks. Further refinement in the bottle for at least 18 months before being put on the market.
